Long-time friends Bailey and the South-African-born Matthews found themselves in the studio after a hot poolside New Year’s Day in 1999. Their collaboration on panels of lino with a floral pattern, dating from the 50s and found in the infamous District Six, resulted in six paintings that were exhibited at South Africa’s first WOMAD music festival in Johannesburg. The collaboration is set to progress in late 2012.
