"An expression of our need to fly again as if we once had the ability and now have to relearn ... This bittersweet expression by the king of controversy may be one of his best offerings ever": Helena Kingwill, The Sunday Independent, June 27 1999.

This body of work was based on the belief that we all once could fly and we simply need to learn how to fly again, like learning to walk again after an accident. It symbolists the angelic in us, the spiritual side of our lives. These works were executed in paintings, multi media prints and a performance called Blue Zulu, performed in collaboration with Brett Bailey with a pre recorded song composed and sung by Beezy, who was painted blue and naked with silk wings, leaping onto a stage on which Brett's team of actors were assembled. While they were singing, Beezy painted a picture of himself flying, with a 4feet long paint brush on rice paper. This was a once off performance at the Durban Art Galleries Red Eye function in 1999.
